Fall 2024 COAPRT Memo

As we move toward the end of this calendar year, we would first like to take a moment to acknowledge the work, resources, and time your faculty and staff have dedicated to maintaining your accreditation. We all share the core values that are important to ensure that students can engage with programs that work hard to provide best practices in their educational experiences to empower them to succeed in parks, recreation, tourism, and related specialization professions. Secondly, we would like to thank all the faculty and professionals who have taken time out of their busy schedules to work with programs as their accreditation visitors. These are extremely important roles, and we appreciate the time and expertise given to support successful programs and learning outcomes for future professionals.

Call for Third Party Comment: COAPRT Applies for Renewal of Accreditation Through CHEA

Lacey, WA – April 9, 2024 - On April 1, 2024, the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions, (COPART) applied for renewal of accreditation through the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CHEA accreditation is a process of external quality review that is created and includes rigorous evaluation of institutions and programs for quality assurance and improvement. Recognition by CHEA conveys that the accrediting organization meets the CHEA Recognition Standards. COAPRT is scheduled for CHEA review on Monday July 15, 2024, during the CHEA Committee on Recognition meeting. Third-party comment must be received in the CHEA office no later than May 29, 2024 and may be submitted by mail, fax or email.
