COAPRT Visitor and Program Training Scheduled for October 8, 2020

The Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) is hosting a 90 minute free training for both programs anticipating a visit and visitors Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. PT (1:30 CT/2:30 MT/3:30 ET).  Register Today

The purpose of the training is to offer an overview of COAPRT accreditation standards and procedures and to provide guidelines and a template for virtual visit procedures due to the pandemic. Individuals interested in serving as accreditation site visitors have the opportunity to either initiate or update their status as site visitors. Those who are new to the accreditation process and want to learn more are welcome.

Following the orientation, participants will join breakouts specific to their interest based on Visitor Status; Program Status; or Programs who are in the process of completing a self study.

COAPRT training requirements: Programs scheduled for accreditation/re-accreditation are required to have a minimum of one faculty member complete COAPRT training within three years of their self-study. All approved visitors must have attended a COAPRT Visitor Training within the past five years on the current version of the standards before they can be assigned to a visitation team. All prospective visitors are required to attend a COAPRT visitor training prior to being assigned a visit.
